MACON — The Columbus girls beat Noxubee County 54-50 on Tuesday in Macon.
Aniya Saddler scored 28 points, recorded seven steals and grabbed five rebounds for the Falcons. DJ Jackson added nine points for Columbus.
Aadijah Williams had 13 points for Noxubee County, and Na’Kailya Mason had 12.
The Falcons will play West Point in the opening game of their district tournament at 4 p.m. Feb. 11 in Grenada.
Columbus boys 65, Noxubee County 59
MACON — The Columbus High boys team beat Noxubee County 65-59 in Tuesday’s game in Macon.
Gabe Williams had 16 points to lead the Falcons. Willie Young had 13, and JJ Williams and Tre Dismuke each scored 11.
Columbus will face Grenada in the first round of the district tournament at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 11.
Heritage Academy girls 57, Winston Academy 49
MERIDIAN — The Heritage Academy girls team beat Winston Academy 57-49 in the opening round of the district tournament Tuesday at Lamar School in Meridian.
Bailey Harris scored 21 points, Lucy Sharp had 14, and Sydney Adair had 12 for the Patriots. Heritage Academy will face Starkville Academy at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
The Patriots boys will play their opening game in the district tournament at 5:15 p.m. Thursday.
Starkville boys 93, Germantown 55
STARKVILLE — The Starkville High boys team delivered a barrage of 3-pointers in a 93-55 win over Germantown in Tuesday’s home game.
The Yellow Jackets hit 16 3s in the victory, closing out an undefeated district stretch.
Eric Green led Starkville with 18 points. Trey Jackson had 16, NyJal Johnson had 14, and Coltie Young had 11.
Starkville will play Germantown again next Tuesday in the district tournament.
Columbus Christian Academy boys 58, Newton County Academy 48, OT
DE KALB — The Columbus Christian Academy boys team pulled out a 58-48 overtime win over Newton County Academy on Tuesday in the district tournament in De Kalb.
Lawson Studdard led Columbus Christian with 21 points in the victory. Jonathan Peal contributed 16, and Dakota Shaw had nine.
The Rams will play host Kemper Academy for the district championship Thursday.
Columbus Christian Academy girls 57, Kemper Academy 21
DE KALB — The Columbus Christian girls had an easier time than the boys did, routing host Kemper Academy 57-21.
Kylie Emerson and CC DeVos each scored 19 points for the Rams, and Cayden Harding added six.
Columbus Christian will face Hebron Christian for the district championship Thursday.
