STARKVILLE — The fall season is coming to a close in the coming weeks, but not before Mississippi State women’s golf hosts its lone home tournament of the season, The Ally.
It’s the fourth annual edition of the event, hosted at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, and 12 college programs, including the Bulldogs, will descend upon the course for the event.
This year’s field includes Florida, Indiana, James Madison, LSU, ULM, Louisville, Mercer, Old Dominion, Sam Houston St., Southern Miss and Tulsa.
Three top-20 teams according to Golfweek will be participating in the No. 6 Tigers, No. 13 Gators and No. 20 Bulldogs.
Two of the top three individual golfers in the country will be competing at The Ally starting on Monday. Mississippi State junior Julia Lopez Ramirez is currently No. 2 nationally according to Golfweek, and right behind her is LSU’s Ingrid Lindblad.
Last season, Mississippi State finished third overall over the two-day event. This year’s tournament will stay a three-round affair, but now played over three days instead of two.
