PONTOTOC — Another weekend, another successful trip for Starkville High School cross country, who finished the regular season in style.
The Yellow Jackets participated in the Pontotoc Invitational on Saturday, their final regular season meet before next Thursday’s district meet, and recorded two top-three team finishes.
The boys varsity team finished third overall, with George Dunn finishing 10th and Ranier Smith 11th. The girls varsity team finished second, featuring three top-10 finishes, highlighted by Evie Thompson’s fifth-place finish.
Both will compete at Choctaw Trails for the Class 2-7A meet on Oct. 26.
