CLINTON — Starkville High School’s boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 7A, Region 2 meet at Choctaw Trails in Clinton on Thursday.
The Yellow Jackets qualified for next Saturday’s state meet, also held at Choctaw Trails, with two third place finishes from their varsity teams.
On the boys side, Scott McDonnall earned a silver medal for finishing second as he and teammate Giles Jones, who finished eighth, were named to the All-Region team.
The girls team was led by Emma Claire Spalding, who finished 15th individually.
