On Monday, Mississippi State football coach Mike Leach said redshirt junior offensive lineman Kwatrivous “Dollar Bill” Johnson was instrumental in leading his team’s comeback Saturday against Louisiana Tech.
Also Monday, Johnson was arrested by the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office on charges of “malicious mischief,” a form of vandalism.
According to an OCSO press release, deputies were called to Aspen Heights Apartments on Blackjack Road for a disturbance call at 1:21 p.m. Monday and arrested Johnson. He was released from Oktibbeha County Jail on $482.25 bond and has a court appearance set for Oct. 5.
The offense is classified as a misdemeanor by Mississippi code, meaning the value of the property damage is $1,000 or less. It carries a fine of up to $1,000 or up to 12 months in jail.
“We’re aware of the situation,” Leach said in a statement. “We’re gathering more information and don’t have further comment at this time.”
Johnson, from Greenwood High School, is Mississippi State’s starting right guard. He appeared in eight games in 2020, starting three.
Mississippi State will host N.C. State at 6 p.m. Saturday at Davis Wade Stadium.
