The W announced on Tuesday that it had promoted assistant women’s soccer coach Valerie Greer to interim head coach for the upcoming season and will continue its national search for its next leader after the 2026 season.
“We are thankful for Coach Greer’s willingness to step into this role to ensure the continuity of the team in terms of both returning players and recruits,” MUW athletic director Buddy Foster said. “Obviously, having to fill a vacancy so late in the year made it nearly impossible to conduct a proper coaching search, given the season is just around the corner. But I am confident that Coach Greer’s established relationships and familiarity will benefit the program”
Greer has been on the team’s staff since 2025, a season in which the Owls went 1-13-4. She replaces Ana Ramos, who resigned from her role as head coach in late June to move closer to her home state of Texas. Ramos had been the leader of MUW women’s soccer since 2024.
