Mississippi State football earned its fourth 4-star recruit in the class of 2027 over the weekend.
Safety Kennedy Green, who committed to MSU in Nov. 2024 before decommitting in 2025, re-committed to the Bulldogs on Saturday. He is the second defensive 4-star in State’s 2027 class, along with defensive lineman Jaden Bayonne.
Green had 56 total tackles and two interceptions last season at Douglas County High School in Douglasville, Georgia. He is the No. 37 ranked player in Georgia and the No. 31 ranked safety in the class, according to Rivals.
“From day one Coach Lebby believed in me,” Green said in his commitment live stream. “Even when I decommitted, Coach Lebby… he said, ‘I’m going to still recruit you, regardless of you decommitting right now.’”
He is the fourth safety to commit to State in the 2027 class. Green looks to play under Zach Arnett, who is returning to MSU as the defensive coordinator after spending 2020-22 as the DC and 2023 as the head coach.
Green chose MSU over South Carolina and North Carolina. He is the third-highest rated recruit in State’s 2027 class.
MSU’s class is ranked 43rd nationally, and 16th in the SEC.
