Mississippi State football added an established name to its special teams unit Tuesday, officially signing former Coastal Carolina placekicker Massimo Biscardi.
Biscardi made 7 of 8 field goals and 46 of 48 extra points for the Chanticleers in 2021. He spent four seasons in Conway and went a combined 46 of 57 on field goals and 161 of 172 on extra points.
The Downingtown, Pennsylvania, native joins junior college transfer Gabriel Plascencia among MSU’s new kickers. Plascencia committed to play for the Bulldogs on Jan. 10.
On Thursday, incumbent kicker Nolan McCord entered the transfer portal, leaving the main competition between the two new transfers for the Bulldogs’ field goal and extra point duties. MSU was 14 of 25 on field goals last season, one of the worst rates in the country.
