Every community needs a place that feels like home. A place where people gather, celebrate, grieve, laugh, reconnect, and simply belong. For Columbus, I believe that place is Munson’s.
I was reminded of that recently while attending a local dance recital. As I watched children perform and families cheer them on, I couldn’t help but think about how often Munson’s quietly supports moments just like these. Whether it’s sponsoring local events, investing in our schools, or simply opening its doors every day with genuine hospitality, Munson’s has become far more than a restaurant. It has become a reflection of the beautiful diversity of our community.
Walk into Munson’s on any given day and you’ll see a beautiful cross-section of Columbus. People from every neighborhood, every background, and every season of life are welcomed exactly the same.
That is increasingly rare.
Ryan and Katherine Munson have intentionally created a place where everyone has a seat at the table. They don’t ask where you’ve been, what you do, or whether you fit a certain mold. They simply welcome you. In a world that often feels divided, that kind of hospitality is powerful.
I eat at Munson’s often, and almost every time I find myself having the same thought: This is what heaven must look like.
Not because of the pizza (although it’s certainly some of the BEST around) but because of what happens inside those walls. People gather. Conversations happen. Friendships are strengthened. New relationships begin. Neighbors become family.
The Munsons have built more than a successful restaurant. They have built a place where people feel seen, heard, and valued. They have quietly modeled what it looks like to love a community well.
So thank you, Ryan and Katherine, for believing in Columbus and investing in its people. Thank you for creating a place where everyone is welcome, where countless memories have been made, and where community continues to flourish one table at a time.
Every town hopes to have a place like Munson’s!
We’re fortunate that ours does.
