A Columbus man will spend 10 years in federal prison for his role in a 2016 shooting in Columbus.
Demarcus Fisher, aka Skull-D, pleaded guilty in April to possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, according to federal court documents.
The shooting occurred on May 7, 2016. According to court documents, Fisher possessed .9mm caliber ammunition, which had been shipped across state lines and which were discharged from a firearm used in the shooting.
Fisher was one of three people charged with aggravated assault in the shooting, which occurred on 18th Avenue North and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Multiple vehicles and one occupied residence were hit in the shooting.
A press release says the investigation was part of a joint effort by state and federal law enforcement to look into several shootings that occurred between the two gangs in 2016. However, he was never indicted on those charges.
Fisher had previously been charged with possession of ammunition by a felon, the press release says.
