Columbus Christian Academy has a new leader.
Terry Walters, 57, has accepted the role as head of school for CCA and will serve as principal for grades 7-12.
Walters told The Dispatch he has been a teacher, coach and administrator for 33 years. He served as the girl’s basketball coach for CCA last year, a position he will hold this year.
Walters spent his career in public schools, but said he is looking forward to teaching with a faith-based curriculum.
“I’m excited about the curriculum they have,” Walters said. “It’s a strong, Christian-based curriculum that brings kids up with good morals.”
CCA is entering its second year of independence from Immanuel Christian Church, and serves approximately 250 students. This year, CCA is adding a Pre-K class for 3-year-olds.
