Quadevious Atterberry, 21, of 2409 Oat Street, was arrested last week after investigators believe he engaged in a sexual relationship with an underage girl.
Noxubee Co. sheriff’s son arrested on drug charges
The son of the Noxubee County Sheriff was arrested Monday for possession of cocaine.
Akem Olajuwon Grassaree, 25, of Macon, was arrested by agents with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Division after they discovered a felony amount of cocaine and a misdemeanor amount of marijuana in his possession, according to authorities.

The Christmas parade season kicks off tonight in Starkville where the theme will be “Christmas in Who-ville.”
The parade begins at 6 p.m. and starts at the intersection of Lampkin and Russell streets. Approximately 70 parade entries will travel north on Montgomery Street before taking a left onto Main Street.

As far as where it will be located, the school board will decide between two pieces of land near Highway 50 and Lehmberg Road.

Columbus woman charged with murder
A Columbus woman has been formally charged with murder after her boyfriend was stabbed to death last week.
Chaddy Mae Brooks, 27, of 300 Lehmberg Rd, Apartment 153, was charged Monday morning. Danielle Gore, 37, died Friday.
