The Columbus High School class of 2011 celebrated their graduation on Saturday with commencement services at Humphrey Coliseum at 9 a.m. on the Mississippi State University campus.

Alabama rallies to beat Auburn
AUBURN, Ala. — The University of Alabama baseball team used a three-run ninth inning to post a 7-6 win against Auburn University on Sunday in the final game of a three-game series at Plainsman Park.
Wright helps Ole Miss end MSU’s streaks
OXFORD — The University of Mississippi baseball team used a six-run first inning and then rode the pitching of Austin Wright on Saturday to earn a 12-3 victory against Mississippi State at Oxford-University Stadium.
The victory helped Ole Miss improve to 28-23 and 12-15 in the Southeastern Conference. It also enabled the Rebels to snap the Bulldogs’ eight-game winning streak and beat them for the first time this season.
MSU, Ole Miss men’s tennis lose in second round of NCAAs
ATLANTA — The 15th-ranked Georgia Tech men’s tennis team held off a charge by No. 21 Mississippi State to earn a 4-1 victory Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Championships on the Georgia Tech campus.
The loss ended MSU’s season at 14-9, while Georgia Tech (21-5) advances to the Sweet 16.

ATHENS, Ga. — Mississippi State freshman Rochelle Farquharson recorded a personal-best jump of 21 feet 3 1/4 inches Saturday to win the long jump at the Southeastern Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Spec Towns Track on the campus of the University of Georgia.
Auburn sweep drops Alabama from first in SEC West
AUBURN, Ala. — The University of Alabama baseball team couldn’t overcome a five-run seventh inning Saturday as Auburn University held on for an 8-7 win in Game 2 of a Southeastern Conference doubleheader at Plainsman Park.
Following Auburn’s sweep of the doubleheader, Alabama falls to 30-22 and drops into fourth place in the SEC West with a 12-14 record. Auburn improved to 28-23 and 13-13, and moved into third place in the division.

OXFORD — The Mississippi State baseball team scored three runs in the eighth inning Thursday night and then held on for a 7-6 victory against the University of Mississippi in a Southeastern Conference baseball game at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field.
