■ Starkville Fireworks Show: Starkville Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a fireworks show at Cornerstone Park, located at 222 Batters Blvd. The Red and Green Quads will be open for viewing and the fireworks show. Or, viewers can tailgate in the parking lot. The event kicks off at 4 p.m. with the fireworks at 9 p.m.

■ Southside Blues Festival ‘24: The Southside Festival Committee presents its annual festival starting at 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday, including a softball tournament, youth events, live entertainment and performances and more at Southside/Townsend Park. Admission is free.

■ Sounds of Summer: Main Street Columbus and the Columbus-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce are hosting a concert series at the Roger Short Soccer Complex featuring The Shane Tubbs Band from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The concert is free, though cold beverages and food will be available for purchase. Bring lawn chairs and blankets, but no pets or coolers.
