Severstal North America, a flat-rolled steel producer headquartered in Dearborn, Mich., has been recognized as the Gold Medal winner in the Reliability Achievement Award by the Association for Iron and Steel Technology (AIST).

At Kinder Morgan, an automated crane lifts an annual average of 500,000 tons of scrap metal onto barges for transport. Logistics Services recently renewed a 10-year lease with the Port Authority.

Severstal steel company’s dispute with former metal brokerage company is over. A circuit court judge ruled on Monday that “Severstal may purchase scrap directly from other vendors as long as the requirement of the first 30,000 gross tons per month is purchased from Jefferson Iron as provided in the contract,” according to a press release from Severstal.

Truck overturns after getting cut off by car
An 18-wheel flatbed tractor trailer truck lost control of its load and overturned on Port Access Road, approximately one-half mile from Island Road, Saturday morning, according to Sgt. Glenn Culpepper with the Columbus Police Department.
County approves $250K for Severstal campus
