WEST POINT — Florida will be adding a local product to its 2024 class as earlier this week, West Point junior quarterback Kahnen Daniels announced on social media his verbal commitment to the Gators.
Daniels is listed as a four-star prospect by 247Sports and listed as a running back despite him playing the quarterback role for the Green Wave.
Currently, he is the No. 349 player in the 2024 class nationally, the No. 33 running back in the country and the No. 12 player in Mississippi.
Last season was a banner year for him and the Green Wave, which went 11-3 last season, reaching the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 5A state title game.
Daniels, a dynamic dual-threat option under center, totaled more than 2,200 all-purpose yards and more than 2,000 rushing yards, running for 24 touchdowns as a junior.
Over the last two seasons, Daniels has rushed for more than 3,050 yards and 32 touchdowns, averaging 10.3 yards per carry over that span.
He had 19 total offers, all at the Division 1 level. Other schools that offered Daniels include Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Auburn and Alabama.
West Point has sent a number of players to the next level in recent years, with Daniels’ backfield teammate Keshawn Henley part of that group.
Now, Daniels joins the ranks and will be headed to play in the Southeastern Conference following his senior season this coming fall.
