STARKVILLE – The Southeastern Conference announced kickoff times and television networks for the first three weeks of the 2025 season on Thursday.
Mississippi State will open the season at 11 a.m. on Aug. 30 with a renewal of a Magnolia State rivalry at Southern Miss in Hattiesburg. That game will be broadcast on ESPN.
The Bulldogs will host Arizona State at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 6 with the contest being broadcast on ESPN2. The Sun Devils will make their first trip to Starkville in the return game of the home-and-home series with Arizona State, which started last season in Tempe.
Mississippi State will host Alcorn State on Sept. 13, at 5 p.m. That game is set to be broadcast on ESPN+/SECN+.
The Bulldogs are entering their second season under head coach Jeff Lebby after a disappointing 2-10 (0-8 SEC) 2024 season that saw them go winless on the road and against Power Four opponents. The return of veteran quarterback Blake Shapen, who missed most of last year with a shoulder injury, provides some optimism, but this is a largely new-look roster with the team adding 31 players from the transfer portal, plus former Noxubee County star quarterback KaMario Taylor from the class of 2025.
The Bulldogs have seven home games in 2025, including visits from Texas, Tennessee, Georgia and Egg Bowl rivals Ole Miss.
Additional TV windows, game times and broadcast information will be announced at a later date.
