Mississippi State baseball added another arm through the transfer portal on Tuesday.
Thomas Allen, a rising sophomore from Louisiana Tech, will make the jump to Starkville for 2027. Allen was tabbed a second-team freshman All-American by the National College Baseball Writers Association, and is the third freshman All-American to transfer to MSU this cycle. Allen joins two-way player Josiah Overbeek, who was a freshman All-American at Army after hitting 17 home runs, 44 RBIs and pitching 21.0 innings and DH Brady Christman, who was the 2026 Freshman of the Year and a first team All-Sun Belt player at Georgia Southern.
Allen appeared in 19 games for Tech last season, starting one, and posting a 3.54 ERA. He pitched 48.1 total innings with 49 strikeouts.
Allen is the 11th player to make his way to Starkville through the portal. The Bulldogs have so far landed 5 players from ESPN’s ranking of the top 60 college baseball transfers.
