MACON — NFL star Jeffery Simmons confirmed in a Facebook post Thursday that rapper and singer Jelly Roll will be the surprise musical guest at this year’s Jeffrey Simmons Community Fun Day.
The event will be held for its third consecutive year in Simmons’ hometown of Macon on Saturday at the Noxubee Titans Field at 814 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Gates to the event will open at 3 p.m and admission is free.
Attendees will have a chance to meet the Noxubee Titans at 4:30 p.m. and will enjoy live musical performances throughout the evening by Jelly Roll, Arnishia King and The Unit, Swiss and Beezy, Big Yayo, DJ CTRIP and DJ Red Man.
The event will also include vendors, water slides and other “water features,” Simmons said in a Facebook post.
Simmons announced via Facebook that due to recent rain in the area, the ground will be too soft to safely set up carnival rides and games, so the event’s planned carnival has been canceled.
The site has a clear bag policy, and attendees must enter through the designated security zone, Simmons said in a Facebook post.
