Joe Edwards hit four of his five 3-pointers and 18 of his 39 points during the third quarter Tuesday night as the Columbus Christian Academy boys basketball team defeated Amory Christian 69-65.
Mason Wright added 10 points for the Rams (3-2), while Jackson Howard scored 9.
Coosa Valley Academy 55, Pickens Academy 53: The Pirates fell to 0-2, largely because they could not contain Brayden Wilson, who scored a game-high 31 points for the Rebels in their overtime win.
Drake Lowery led three players in double figures with 16 points for Pickens. Deveren Wilkins scored 15 points, while Clark Gibson added 10.
Pickens Academy will play Patrician Academy at Southern Academy in Greensboro on Thursday in a Christmas tournament.
Girls basketball
Pickens Academy 41, Coosa Valley Academy 25: Kate Wilkins totaled 26 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Pirates to their second win.
Lizzie Noland added 9 points for Pickens, while Sydney Simmons led Coosa Valley with 15 points.
Columbus Christian Academy 61, Amory Christian 20: Morgan Whitten scored 16 of her game-high 19 points during the first half for the Rams.
Faith Yeates scored 16 points, while Satavia Watkins added 12 for Columbus Christian.
