LEARNED — Columbus Christian Academy girls basketball will be moving on in the MAIS Class 2A tournament after a gritty 39-36 win over Riverdale Academy (Louisiana) at Rebul Academy on Wednesday night.
The Rams were led by Carrie Kinard, who scored 13 points in the win, with Ada Farlow not far behind her, finishing with nine points and a made 3-pointer.
CCA will play the winner of Tensas Academy (Louisiana) and Delta Academy in the semifinals at 2:15 p.m. Friday.

LEARNED — Columbus Christian Academy boys basketball fell in the quarterfinals of the MAIS Class 2A tournament to Union Christian Academy, 71-52, at Rebul Academy on Wednesday night.
In the loss, the Rams were led by Garrett Weathers with 19 points and Joe Edwards with 10 points. The two hit a combined five 3-pointers for CCA.
Columbus Christian senior Drake Shaw was named an MAIS Class 2A all-star and will play in the March 3 game at Jackson Prep in Flowood.
