The Mississippi University for Women’s men’s soccer team has made a coaching change.
Director of Athletic Communications Dave Beyer confirmed yesterday that BJ Pheasant is no longer the man in charge after leading the team for four years, including its jump into NCAA Division III competition in 2024.
Beyer did not give any details behind the university’s decision to move on from Pheasant, telling The Dispatch, “The university does not comment on personnel issues.” Pheasant ends his career at The W with a 12-43-10 overall record that includes a winless 0-17 finish to the 2024 season.
Beyer said Logan Stone, the only coach now listed on the team’s roster, “is taking over on-field duties,” and that women’s soccer head coach Ana Ramos is “handling the administrative duties.” The Owls are off to a 3-8-1 start to the 2025 season, including a 0-2-1 mark in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. Their next game is 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri.
