Green Bay Packers rookie running back Kylin Hill was on the sidelines for Friday’s game between Columbus High School and Southaven.
Hill, a Columbus alum who played at Mississippi State from 2017-20, was honored over the public address system after the first quarter. He acknowledged a sizable crowd on hand to watch the Falcons’ home opener in response.
“We had great crowd support, great fan support,” Columbus coach Joshua Pulphus said.
Hill was selected with the No. 256 overall pick in the seventh round of this year’s NFL draft. He made Green Bay’s roster last week after an impressive preseason showing.
Hill joins former Columbus basketball player Robert Woodard II in the professional ranks. Woodard, a standout at Mississippi State, was selected 40th overall in the 2020 NBA draft and is currently a member of the Sacramento Kings.
