COLUMBUS — Mississippi University for Women’s Athletics programs are back in action this weekend with a slate of home Friday games in Columbus and Saturday tournament appearances.
The Owls men’s and women’s soccer teams are in action against Huntingdon College on Friday, with the women kicking off at 5 p.m. and the men’s game following afterward. This is the third season with BJ Pheasant as head coach of the men’s team and the first season with Ana Ramos in charge of the women’s team.
Home soccer games are played in the field behind the playground at the Roger Short Soccer Complex. All home games are available to stream for free on Veo Live.
The Owls volleyball team also opens its season at home on Friday, the first game under new head coach Breylee Linder. The Owls take on Crowley’s Ridge College at 5 p.m. on Friday in Pohl Gymnasium.
The volleyball game will be available to stream on Owls All-Access at owlsathletics.com.
Elsewhere the Owls have events across the south in cross country and men’s golf.
The men’s and women’s cross country teams will compete at the Jacksonville State University Foothill Invitational 5K on Friday night in Jacksonville, Ala. The men’s race starts at 5:30 p.m. and the women’s race starts at 6:15 p.m.
Last but not least, the men’s golf team makes their return after an NCAA Division III tournament appearance in the spring. They’ll tee off on Saturday in the Transylvania University Fall Invitational in Lexington, Ky.
