After spending the last two years leading the charge of improvement for MUW’s volleyball team, The W announced on Tuesday that head coach Breylee Linder has resigned from her role within the program to pursue “other career opportunities.”
“We appreciate Breylee’s work in growing our volleyball program,” athletic director Buddy Foster said. “And we certainly wish her nothing but the best on her coaching journey. Owls’ volleyball is in a better place because of her efforts.”
Foster added that a national search for the program’s fourth leader since 2017 will begin immediately.
Linder, a native of Florence, Ala., took the reins of MUW’s volleyball team in June of 2024 and battled through a 5-19 season her first year to propel the Owls to an 11-win season in 2025 – which set the program record for single-season wins in a tie for third place in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The team’s effort earned them the first home postseason game in school history, which they won 3-0 over Blackburn College.
Under Linder, the Owls’ volleyball team produced its first-ever First-Team All-SLIAC selection in Megan Neeb, while four players were tabbed for the SLIAC’s All-Academic Team and the squad was recognized with the SLIAC volleyball Team Sportsmanship Award.
