The Vicious Biscuit is slated to open its second Mississippi location right here in Starkville.
At the former Salsaritas (I miss her every day), the Vicious Biscuit website lists Starkville’s location at 87 Cotton Mill Drive as “coming soon.”
The breakfast joint first opened in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, in 2018, expanding with franchise locations throughout the country, from Akron, Ohio, to Louisiana.
I checked out the menu, and boy, it looks good, with great names to match, including the spicy hen solo, silence of the hams and SEC or sausage, egg and cheese. It just means more.
Other menu items include shrimp and grits, beignets, breakfast bowls and more.
According to its website, the Vicious Biscuit is “primed for aggressive growth” across the country, with available markets primarily in the southeast.
VB opened its first Mississippi location in Hattiesburg a little more than a year ago. I did reach out to VB’s media team, but I haven’t heard back yet.
According to its website, locations are open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Also in Starkville, a new boutique is coming to downtown.
Lily Pad, an Oxford-based boutique, plans to open its Starkville location at 220 E. Main St., the former Fleur de Lis Flowers and Gifts location, on Aug. 1.
Lily Pad celebrated 26 years this year, and from the looks of their website, they offer various women’s clothing, gifts and Greek life apparel. I reached out but haven’t heard back yet, so follow along on their social media for updates.
Moving over to Columbus, I wanted to give y’all an update on Scooter’s Coffee.
Back in February 2025, I shared the news that Scooter’s Coffee was officially making its way to the Friendly City. Now, that morning caffeine dream is one step closer to reality.
Scooter’s has officially filed a building permit with the city. According to a company representative, the new drive-thru coffee spot is expected to open this fall at 1902 Suite B Hwy. 45, right next door to Dairy Queen.
The drive-thru coffee chain was started by co-founders Don and Linda Eckles in 1998. Since opening the first location in Bellevue, Nebraska, the franchise coffee shop has expanded to more than 900 stores in 28 states. Scooter’s has a pretty large menu with iced and hot coffees, sparkling floats and sodas, shakes, smoothies, teas and a slew of breakfast items, including omelet bites, cinnamon rolls, breakfast burritos, sandwiches and more.
Another update on a previous column, TK’s Edible Arrangements is getting closer and closer to opening its second location in West Point. Three years ago, Latasha Hill opened the Columbus location, and the business expanded so much that she decided to venture out to the West Point area.
She posted online this week that she intends to open the West Point location at 6661 Hwy. 45 Alt. S. later this month.
“The wait is almost over,” the post read. “We’ve officially made it to the final stage. We’re currently waiting on our last inspection before opening our doors. … We can’t wait to serve the West Point community. Thank you all for your patience, support and excitement during this journey.”
See y’all next week.
