STARKVILLE — Mississippi State sophomore receiver Devonta Jason has entered the transfer portal per a university spokesman.
Jason, who has played in just two games this season, has yet to record any statistics on the year.
In 2018, the New Orleans native appeared in 13 games — catching two passes for 42 yards, while also making a staunch impact on special teams.
Jason came to MSU after a standout career at Landry-Walker High School — the same program that produced junior quarterback Keytaon Thompson. A four-star recruit, he was rated the No. 2 prospect in Louisiana by Rivals.
While his name has been entered into the transfer portal, the move is not binding and Jason can still return to MSU.
