Mississippi State outfielder Rowdey Jordan will be seeing some familiar faces in the New York Mets’ organization.
The Bulldogs’ center fielder was drafted by New York with the No. 322 overall pick in the 11th round of the MLB draft Tuesday, joining former teammates Jake Mangum, JT Ginn and Cole Gordon in the Mets’ farm system.
Jordan was the only Mississippi State player selected Tuesday in the draft’s final 10 rounds after four Bulldogs were drafted in the first two days of the event.
Right-handed pitcher Will Bednar went to San Francisco at No. 14 overall in the first round, outfielder Tanner Allen went to Miami in Round 4 and pitchers Eric Cerantola and Christian MacLeod went to Kansas City and Minnesota, respectively, in Round 5.
Three MSU signees were drafted in between Bednar and Allen on Sunday and Monday. Left-hander Maddux Bruns closed out the first round at No. 29 to the Los Angeles Dodgers, outfielder James Wood was drafted by San Diego at No. 62 overall in the second round, and shortstop Jordan McCants went to the Marlins with pick No. 88 in Round 3.
