Mississippi State picked up its second transfer portal commitment Monday, adding guard Trayanna Crisp from North Carolina. Crisp is from Goodyear, Arizona and played two years at Arizona State before spending the 2024-25 season with the Tar Heels.

As a Sun Devil, Crisp made 35 starts in her 59 appearances, averaging 12.1 points per game as a sophomore. She missed some time with an injury last year at North Carolina but still played in 28 games, almost all off the bench, and averaged 5.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists.
Her best performance came in a comeback win over Louisville, when she scored a season-high 19 points. The Tar Heels finished 29-8 with a 13-5 record in the ACC, reaching the third round of the NCAA Tournament before losing to rival Duke.
Crisp joins forward Kharyssa Richardson, formerly with Ole Miss and Auburn, as head coach Sam Purcell’s portal additions. Once the three incoming freshmen join, the Bulldogs will have eight players on the roster, with only Destiney McPhaul, Chandler Prater and Rocío Jiménez returning from last year. Starters Denim DeShields, Debreasha Powe and Madina Okot have all entered the transfer portal, as has backup center Quanirah Montague.
Coming out of high school, Crisp was a top-100 nationally ranked prospect by ESPN. All three of MSU’s incoming freshmen also fit that description, led by Jaylah Lampley at No. 38 and Madison Francis at No. 39.
