STEENS — Day 1 of the Impact Sports Christmas Tournament at Columbus Christian Academy featured history for Heritage Academy girls basketball as Lucy Sharp scored her 1,000th career point for the Patriots in a 49-18 win over Delta Academy.
The Pats (8-9) had great performances as well from Caroline Peal and Sophie Starks, who each scored nine points in the win.
Oak Hill Academy fared well as its boys team defeated Delta Academy, 60-18, led by a fantastic performance from Collins Trolio, who singlehandedly scored as many points as Delta with 18.
Game MVP John Ross Craven scored 14 points for OHA in the win.
Columbus Christian Academy, the host of this three-day tournament, split a pair of games between its boys and girls teams against Kemper Academy as the girls (7-6) got over the .500 mark with a 42-33 win.
Carrie Kinard carried the Raiders to victory, scoring a game-high 20 points.
The Rams fell on the boys side of things, 45-41, as Tyler Phillips scored a team-high 11 points for CCA (9-3).
Columbus, the lone public school playing in the tournament, lost 59-28 to Leake Academy as MaKhya Weatherspoon scored 10 points in the loss for the Falcons.
A full slate of games for Day 2 begins at noon Wednesday.

Noxubee County 66, Canton 40
MACON — Noxubee County girls basketball defeated Canton, 66-40, at home on Tuesday night.
The Tigers (7-1) were led by a fantastic performance from Tootie Lockett, scoring a game-high 28 points along with five rebounds and four assists. Ta’Kyra Smith also had 10 points.
Noxubee County will play Louisville in its next game at 6 p.m. Thursday in Macon.
