STARKVILLE — Former Mississippi State football coach Dan Mullen is making moves before his introductory news conference.
The Dispatch has confirmed a report that MSU’s co-offensive coordinators John Hevesy (offensive line) and Billy Gonzales (wide receivers) will follow Mullen to Florida.
Mullen will officially be introduced as Florida’s new coach at 2 p.m.
Gonzales and Hevesy were with Mullen for his nine years at MSU.
The decisions of Hevesy and Gonzales creates questions about MSU defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, who is finishing his first season in that position. Grantham likely will have the opportunity to go to Florida, but his decision is complicated by family matters. Grantham’s son, Corbin, is a sophomore safety for the Starkville High School football team. Grantham said in his introductory news conference he wanted Corbin to graduate in Starkville.
