Heritage Academy baseball coach Justin Flake has been hired as the new head baseball coach at Choctaw County High School.
Joel Coleman of the Starkville Daily News first reported Tuesday that Flake, who was in the middle of his third season with the Patriots, will join the Chargers. He will also be the head coach of Choctaw County’s junior high baseball team.
Flake and Heritage Academy won the MAIS Class 3A championship over Wayne Academy in May 2019. He also coached softball at Heritage Academy.
He previously coached at Copiah Academy in Gallman and Winston Academy in Louisville.
“Overall, he has an impressive winning record as a baseball coach and has impeccable references from coaches across Mississippi,” Choctaw County said in a Twitter statement announcing the news. “Coach Flake hopes to bring his experience coaching successful programs to the home of the Chargers!”
