SHREVEPORT, La. — The Amateur Softball Association of America inducted E.T. Colvin into the National Softball Hall of Fame at the 30th annual Hall of Fame Induction celebration in Shreveport, La., last week.
Colvin, who is the 40th ASA commissioner selected to the Hall of Fame, has had quite a year. In a span of 21 days he was elected as the International Softball Federation North American Vice President, ASA president-elect and to the Hall of Fame.
He has done an outstanding job as Mississippi ASA Commissioner and has served on numerous ASA committees in addition to serving as ASA President from 2004-05. Colvin started his softball career in the mid-1980s playing locally with the Cash Distributing Softball team. Colvin and the Cash team went on to play throughout the south and the United States where he hit over 1500 home runs. Colvin has been instrumental in hosting over 45 National Championship Tournaments in Mississippi. Colvin was named Mississippi ASA State Commissioner in 1992.
