Road series at Florida and Alabama highlight the 2022 Southeastern Conference slate for the Mississippi State softball team.
The SEC released its 24-game schedule Thursday morning, setting the Bulldogs up to open conference play on the road with three-game series at Florida from March 11-13, 2022.
Mississippi State will likely have a chance to return to Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium in Gainesville at the end of the season when Florida hosts the SEC tournament from May 10-14.
The Bulldogs visit Alabama from April 15-17 and also play road SEC series at Tennessee (April 1-3) and Kentucky (April 29-May 1).
Mississippi State’s first home conference weekend is March 18-20 against Ole Miss. The Bulldogs will host Missouri from April 8-10, Auburn from April 22-24 and LSU — concluding the regular season — May 6-8.
Game times and TV channels have yet to be announced, and the SEC noted some series could be shifted from Friday-Sunday to Saturday-Monday. The Bulldogs’ opening conference series at Ole Miss in 2021 was played from Saturday-Monday.
Mississippi State lost its first 13 conference games last season before a late-season turnaround that put the Bulldogs (35-25, 8-15 SEC) in the NCAA tournament. They reached the Stillwater Regional final, losing to No. 5 overall seed Oklahoma State.
