A 20-year-old woman was charged with stabbing her boyfriend in the head with a steak knife during an argument over shoes early today.
Labrenda D. Roby, of 1415 12th Ave. N., was arguing with her boyfriend at their residence about whether she had money to buy a pair of shoes when things turned ugly at about 4:50 a.m., said Columbus Police Public Information Officer Terrie Songer.
Roby grabbed a steak knife and stabbed him in the head when he rushed her, head down, to try and disarm her, Songer said.
The victim suffered an inch-long wound to his head, but declined transportation to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, Songer continued.
Roby was charged with domestic violence/aggravated assault and giving officers false information. Her bond had not been set by 10 a.m. today.
Officers also responded to a domestic violence report early Saturday, when a woman reported that her 38-year-old boyfriend, Kenneth Brown, had punched her in the face while she was driving on 10th Avenue North.
She filed the report at the police station at about 2 a.m. Saturday. According to Songer, she was bleeding from the mouth and had blood on her shirt and arms.
Brown, whose last known residence was at 616 Black Creek Road, was arrested at 611 18th St. N. and was charged with domestic violence/aggravated assault. His bond had not been set by 10 a.m. today.
