OKTIBBEHA COUNTY – Three suspects are charged in connection with a Sunday drive-by shooting on Blair Road southeast of Starkville.
Ravion Bentley, 24, of Canton, faces a drive-by shooting charge. Deaundra Moore and Khaliah Bean, both 24 of Starkville, are charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
The shooting occurred at about 9:39 a.m. Sunday, according to an Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office press release. At the scene, deputies found damage to a vehicle and trailer, though no injuries were reported.
As part of the investigation, deputies executed search warrants Monday for vehicles and residences at North Montgomery Street and Lynn Lane that led to the arrests, OCSO Capt. Brett Watson said. During their search, deputies seized about four pounds of marijuana, two AR-style rifles and $1,697 cash.
Starkville Police Department and Starkville Animal Control officers assisted in the investigation, the press release said.
Watson would not disclose whether the parties involved knew one another, if the arrests were made at the same dwelling or the believed motive for the shooting.
He said more arrests are likely and the three suspects in custody could face more charges.
