A Columbus man turned himself in to police Tuesday following a Sunday shooting that sent one man to the hospital.
Jerome Abrams, 35, turned is charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Columbus Police Department Public Information Officer Bryan Moore said.
Shortly after 5 a.m., CPD officers responded to the 700 block of 17th Street North after receiving a report of a gunshot victim.
A man was shot in the arm after a physical altercation turned into a shooting, Moore said. The victim was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, where he was treated for his injuries and released.
In a press release issued Monday, police identified Abrams as a suspect in the shooting.
