OKTIBBEHA COUNTY — A Sturgis man is in custody after a Wednesday morning shooting on Taylor Road that injured three people.
Henry Lee Lowery, 65, is charged with three counts of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon, Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Brett Watson told The Dispatch.
A shots-fired call came into the sheriff’s office at about 9:40 a.m., Watson said, along with a later warning that people had been injured. Watson said it appeared that a verbal dispute outside of Lowery’s home escalated into gunfire.
Watson said Lowery was arrested on the scene, and the three victims were treated by EMS and released. None of the injuries were life threatening.
Lowery is being held in Oktibbeha County Jail awaiting his initial court appearance, Watson said. Bond had not been set as of press time Wednesday.
