STARKVILLE – A Starkville man is in custody after allegedly leading Oktibbeha County sheriff’s deputies on a brief chase following a traffic stop Friday, according to a sheriff’s office press release.
Erick Lamar Robertson, 47, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, failure to stop when officers signal and possession of a schedule two controlled substance.
Deputies pursued Robertson through different parts of the county following a traffic stop. The chase finished off Montgomery Street in Starkville after officers deployed spike strips. Robertson then tried to flee the officers on foot before he was caught.
Robertson is being held in Oktibbeha County Jail awaiting an initial court appearance.
