Two people are in stable condition at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle following a shooting in Lowndes County on Monday afternoon.
Around 3:45 p.m., authorities received a call from a woman going in and out of consciousness after suffering a gunshot wound. According to scanner reports, the woman said she and another person had been shot by a relative and were trying to reach a hospital. After emergency crews arrived at the scene, the victims were transported to the hospital where they remained in stable condition this morning, according to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department.
The shooting occurred near Nashville Ferry Road East and Sheffield Road, per scanner reports.
LCSD investigators collected evidence from a red Chevrolet Silverado truck Monday afternoon. The truck had been left at the corner of Stallion Road and Nashville Ferry Road East.
The LCSD, when contacted by The Dispatch this morning, would not release further information.
