Shots rang out Saturday night on Southside for the second time in six days.
Luckily this time, there were no injuries reported.
Police responded at about 7:30 p.m. to the 1700 block of Bell Avenue, where several rounds had been fired into a residence, Columbus Police Department Public Information Officer Bryan Moore told the Dispatch. The shooting caused “property damage only,” he said.
It was in the same general area as a Dec. 23 shooting, where a reported 30 to 40 rounds were shot into a vehicle, Moore said. One victim was injured and flown to a Jackson hospital for treatment.
Moore told The Dispatch Monday that investigators confirmed the two shootings were connected. CPD has been following leads on the case, he said, though he could not release the names of any suspects Monday.
Anyone with information on either shooting can leave an anonymous tip with Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at (800) 530-7151.
