Police have identified a suspect in a Sunday shooting that sent a Columbus man to the hospital.
Frederick Demoko Washington, 22, of Columbus, is wanted for aggravated assault with a weapon in connection with the shooting. Washington is considered armed and dangerous, a Columbus Police Department press release said.
Police responded to the 1400 block of 20th Street North at about 9:32 a.m. Sunday, where they found a victim suffering a single gunshot wound to the upper leg.
The victim was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle with life-threatening injuries. He was still in the hospital as of Tuesday, CPD Public Information Officer Bryan Moore told The Dispatch.
Anyone with information regarding Washington’s whereabouts is asked to contact CPD at (662) 244-3500 or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at (800) 530-7151. Tips can remain anonymous, and callers may be eligible for a cash reward.
