Police arrested three juveniles Saturday after receiving multiple calls about car burglaries in East Columbus, a press release from the Columbus Police Department said.
At about 4:25 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 2200 block of Shannon Avenue after someone called 911 to report an auto burglary.
The victim at the scene told police she saw a man in her vehicle, which was parked underneath her carport. About five minutes later, police got another call about a different auto burglary in the same area.
Officers located three juveniles on O’Leary Lane, about a block from the first burglary. They were each arrested and charged with auto burglary and accessory after the fact.
The juveniles are being held at the Lowndes County Juvenile Detention Center. The burglaries remain under investigation, and additional charges may follow, the press release said.
