CLAY COUNTY — A West Point man was killed early Sunday in a one-vehicle crash on Highway 50.
Cedrick J. Powell, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a press release from Mississippi Highway Patrol Sgt. Derrick Beckom. MHP responded to the wreck at about 1:09 a.m. near Highway 47, Beckom said.
Powell was traveling west on Highway 50 when his vehicle ran off the right side of the highway into a utility pole. Beckom told The Dispatch Monday morning that the cause of the wreck was unknown, but an investigation is ongoing.
