CLAY COUNTY — A suspect in a home burglary in Clay County turned himself in Saturday morning to authorities in Choctaw County.
Asa Jennings Lester, 22, of Pontotoc was arrested in connection to a Nov. 11 burglary of a home on Joe Thompson Road in Pheba.
Sheriff Eddie Scott said three firearms, two laptops, a guitar and jewelry were stolen from the home, all of which have been recovered except a ring and one of the firearms. After turning himself in, Lester was brought back to Clay County, where he is being charged with burglary of a dwelling, Scott said.
Scott said he expects more charges will likely be filed in Webster and Choctaw counties for two separate vehicle thefts. He said he believes the truck that Lester drove during the home burglary in Clay was stolen in Webster County.
Lester is being held at the Clay County Jail on a bond of $50,000, Scott said.
