Are you ready to Flamingle?
Put on your most comfortable attire, shorts, flip flops, Hawaiian shirts, and come downtown on Friday from 5-8 p.m., to shop, dine, listen to music and have some fun.
Main Street Columbus and the Columbus Arts Council have again joined together to bring Let’s Flamingle Downtown to Columbus.
Participating stores will have tiny flamingos hidden throughout. Locate one flamingo in a minimum of eight stores and return your flock to the Columbus Arts Council’s Rosenzweig Arts Center to be entered into grand prize drawings with a combined value of more than $1,000.
Be sure to bring your camera and take pictures inside the Rosenzweig Arts Center, look for Fiona the Flamingo, enjoy snow cones and street musicians and don’t miss the slot pull for more chances at prizes.
To have an even better chance at the grand prizes, purchase $25 worth of merchandise at any participating store and receive a pink ticket to allow you to enter your name again!
At your first stop, pick up a “baby flamingo” bag to keep your flock together and a list of participating merchants. Watch the Main Street Columbus Facebook page for a final list of participating merchants: facebook.com/MainStreetColumbus.
Want to join the fun but not sure the kids would? No worries! The Columbus Arts Council is offering Parent’s Night Out. Drop off kids anytime between 5-8 p.m. and let them be entertained in a safe, secure atmosphere with activities provided by arts council personnel while parents are free to enjoy downtown activities. Childcare will be available for children ages 5-12 at only $25 per child. To register, visit the Columbus Arts Council in person or columbusartscouncil.com/flamingle.
In 2023, this event was named “Outstanding New Event” by the Mississippi Main Street Association.
