Mississippi District 41 Rep. Kabir Karriem will once again serve as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention.
Karriem was selected by members in the first congressional district in April, according to a press release sent to The Dispatch. It will be Karriem’s second time serving as a delegate. He first held the role in 2020.
Karriem served two terms as a Columbus city councilman and is serving his third term in the Mississippi Legislature.
“The selection of Representative Karriem as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention is a testament to his leadership, integrity and unwavering dedication to public service,” the press release reads. “His presence at the convention will undoubtedly bring a valuable perspective and strong voice to the discussions and decisions that will shape the future of our nation.”
Karriem will join other delegates in August for the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
