CLAY COUNTY – Officers seized more than three pounds of marijuana, along with firearms and cash in a joint operation between the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, West Point Police Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.
Dalentz Lane, 30, of West Point, is charged with trafficking a controlled substance.
Deputies raided Lane’s home Sunday, Chief Deputy Steven “Woody” Woodruff told The Dispatch.
At the home, they found about 3 1/2 pounds of marijuana, more than 53 times the amount required to constitute a felony. The drugs carry an estimated street value between $15,000 and $25,000. Sheriff Eddie Scott said agents also recovered three firearms and $6,000 in cash from the home.
Woodruff said no other arrests are expected for now, though the investigation into where the drugs came from is still ongoing.
Lane is being held in Clay County Detention Center on a total bond of $50,000.
