The Columbus Police Department made multiple arrests on Tuesday, including suspects in two shootings and a stabbing, according to a police department press release.
On Tuesday morning at about 5 a.m., the CPD SWAT Team arrested Jatylon Kelley, 18, and JaQualon Kelley, 18, while conducting a search at a residence on Maple Street.
Jatylon Kelley was arrested in connection to a May 1 shooting on 18th Street North and Seventh Avenue North, CPD Public Information Officer Bryan Moore told The Dispatch. Three juveniles had already been arrested in the shooting. More accessory after the fact arrests are expected in the shooting, the release said.
Jatylon Kelley was charged with possession of a stolen firearm and accessory after the fact, while JaQualon Kelley was charged with possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a controlled substance.
Also on Tuesday morning, suspects in a stabbing and a shooting turned themselves in to police.
Miemee Smith, 39, who allegedly stabbed her ex-boyfriend’s tire and hand Monday at the Waffle House off Highway 45, turned herself in at about 8 a.m. She has been charged with aggravated domestic violence.
LaQuantavious Perry, who allegedly shot a woman in the arm Sunday at the 1900 block of 14th Avenue, turned himself in at about 10:50 a.m. He has been charged with two counts of aggravated domestic violence.
All four are being held at the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center awaiting initial appearance.
