A woman allegedly took extreme measures Monday to settle a dispute with her romantic partner. Now, the suspect is charged with domestic aggravated assault.
Mimie Smith, 39, stabbed the tire of a male victim’s vehicle at Waffle House off Highway 45, according to a Columbus Police Department press release. She followed the victim to the intersection of First St. North and Waverly Ferry Road, where his tire went flat.
Smith then stabbed the victim in the right hand, threw the knife and left the scene, CPD Public information Officer Bryan Moore told The Dispatch. She was booked in Lowndes County Adult Detention Center at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, according to jail records.
Officers responded Monday to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, where the victim received treatment for his stab wound.
Moore also confirmed the victim and suspect were romantically involved.
